Yesterdays event was a complete and total success! The kids were so engaged and just thrilled to participate and learn. We had fathers and mothers come on stage to be graded BY THEIR CHILDREN on the GRASP gun safety meter; wonderfully every single parent gun owner present was awarded a great big huge “A” report card! Way to go parents! Two little boys got on stage and said their father was their HERO for teaching them gun safety and keeping his firearms properly secured! Amazing! After taking a 5 step safety pledge all children came on stage and got their KIDS GRASP SAFETY certificates! The slide show shown was as educational as it was hilarious! Six parents won free LICENSE TO CARRY courses and others walked away with free gun locks and safes and of course everyone went home stuffed from an all you can eat style breakfast buffet complete with fresh fruit, cookies, sweet bread, tamales, coffee and aquas frescas! Kids took home free coloring books, pencils, stickers and awareness bracelets!

GRASP was honored to have the very prestigious Mr. Frank Guerrero as our featured guest speaker and Lone Star National Bank’s very own COWBOY CASH made a Texas size appearance to meet and mingle!

OPERATION SHIELD was on site and personally greeted the winners of their raffled License to Carry course and answer any questions by interested parents.

A GRASP workshop would not be complete without law enforcement and security; we’d like to thank The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s office and G-Force Private Security for the security detail.

As always GRASP would like to shout out and give thanks to our sponsors and supporters; KIDS GRASP SAFETY workshops are made possible only by their generosity.

It was a great safety workshop and we can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you RGV for an absolutely great 1st GRASP SAFETY event!
