Our Mission

Education

GRASP will be having and hosting events at schools, public libraries and other private and public settings. Monies raised will be utilized to give out gun locks, gun safes, pay for safety classes and LTC courses for PARENTS with young children residing in their household along with a plethora of gun safety education gear and learning products specifically geared for young children and adolescents.

Prevention

Through our GREAT GRASP KIDS CLUB, we will educate school aged children on gun safety. All participating children and adolescents will get a pledge certificate award to sign and take home with them as a pledge and reminder of what they learned at one of the GRASP SAFETY events. Parents will be urged to frame and hang their children’s SAFETY CERTIFICATES as a reminder of what their children learned.

Our Founder

Roman Camargo, 13, created GRASP to address the lack of education on firearms. Since 2017, he has worked to provide awareness to children and their parents on gun safety. He is dedicated to making a difference through education and community involvement.

Roman has been handling guns since the age of 9 and has learned proper stance, practice, and safety procedures through his older brother, Ramiro.

Roman knows that gun accidents and incidents can be prevented with proper safety and awareness techniques. He is dedicated to reaching as many gun owners in his community. Gun responsibility, knowledge, education, and safety are his top priorities as founder of GRASP.

Roman is also involved in band, chess club, other school organizations, and community events such as book drives.

"Gun rights come with an unspoken obligation to uphold the highest safety protocol possible around kids."

the Great GRASP Kids Club

The Great GRASP Kids Club is an exciting and fun gun safety program created and geared towards kids.

GRASP strongly believes that fear should not be a part of a gun safety program, especially if geared towards children. We will work with schools and other non-profits to teach children the difference between real, toy, airsoft, pellet, and BB guns. Also, we will inform students what they should do if they happen to see an unattended gun.

All participating children and adolescents will get a pledge certificate award to sign and take home with them as a pledge and reminder of what they learned at one of the GRASP SAFETY events. Parents will be urged to frame and hang their children’s SAFETY CERTIFICATES as a reminder of what their children learned.
